I have been drawing and painting since I was a child, but I did not attend any formal art school. Instead, I took lessons from several artists in New England, where I was born. I also lived in Holland for 2 years and took lessons from a well-known Dutch artist. I fell in love with the Dutch masters and the Impressionists in Europe. I love painting seascapes, animals and people because they excite my creativity when I see the perfect subject.

I didn’t paint for 30 years because of raising a family and a career in nursing. Since moving to Merced, I was introduced to several artists and the Arbor Gallery. This inspired me and I started painting in watercolor and acrylic again, finding the old love of creating art again thrilling.
